February – how does it always manage to fly by so quickly? I guess it’s probably just the whole short month thing making me feel that way, but it doesn’t seem like a couple of days difference should have that much of an effect on my perception of time. On the other hand, here we are at the end of the month and I’m not quite sure how we got here so fast. With all the snowy weather over the last few weeks it was finally starting to feel like winter around here, of course, all of that arrived just in time for it to be over.
Every year I keep my eye out for new and fun ways to bridge the gap between the end of winter and nicer weather, which can sometimes be a challenge with all the spring slop here in WI (if you know, you know). Obviously I always have plenty of stitching to do, but sometimes it’s nice to step out of the norm and give something I haven’t done before a shot. That’s why I’m excited to tell you about something new we’re trying at Primitive Gatherings – a special “virtual” shop hop hosted by Quilters Cross Country, coming up next week!
The Quilter’s Cross Country Shop Hop is a virtual shop hop that will take place completely online. The event runs from Monday, March 9th – Saturday, March 15th, 2025 online only! Each day, shoppers will visit the designated participating quilt shop’s facebook page, and/or app when they go LIVE at 6 p.m. The shop will host a LIVE show, followed by a drawing for one (1) $50.00 gift card. They will then release the next “clue” needed to complete the FREE Shop Hop mystery quilt. You will need to collect all clues in order to complete the project. Kits will be available to purchase! Participating shops include the following:

You know how I love a good mystery quilt, so this sounds especially fun for me!!! Plus, how cool is it that we get to be a part of this new style of shop hop along side of some of the best shops in the country? The best part is, you don’t have to leave the house to participate since it’s all done entirely online, from the comfort of wherever you choose to watch. What a great idea! It sure does make it easy to check out some really great shops that you otherwise might have never known about. Did someone say shopping and a FREE pattern??? I’m in! Alright, everyone. Back to The Gathering I must go! The February Vintage Coat class hosted by Bernina Barb and I is in full swing over there, and I’m sure they’re starting to wonder where I ran off to by now. Not to mention, it’s just about dinner time and I don’t want to upset the kitchen by missing the dinner bell – or miss the chance for seconds! A girl’s got her priorities you know… I’m 100% certain that whatever Erica and Mic are whipping up is going to be delicious as all heck, and I can’t wait to get it in my belly – one of the many perks of a retreat weekend at The Gathering!!!
