Hey everyone! Have you heard the great news? Internationally renowned fiber artist, Sue Spargo is officially returning to The Gathering this February, 2024! As I’m sure you already know, Sue is an extremely talented quilter and master of creative stitching, which can make getting a seat at one of her exclusive educational events a bit of a challenge. That’s why I’m extra excited that she has graciously made time in her busy schedule to come back to The Gathering so soon after just being here last spring.
Sue will be at The Gathering sharing her knowledge and personal secrets of creative stitching Monday, February 26th through Friday, March 1st, 2024. She will guide you through “Of a Feather,” an intermediate level wool and cotton quilt project (48.5″ x 48.5″) that features her signature wool appliqué, layering, and dimensional embroidery techniques. If you’d rather stick with a smaller project she offers a pillow version as well.
Now, I know if you’re a Sue Spargo fan and you’re just hearing about this, you’re probably about ready to fall out of your chair – and I don’t blame you! After all, this opportunity doesn’t present itself very often. That being said, if you’re hell-bent on attending this special event, heads up! There are some super important things you need to know about how to register, right off the bat.
The number one, most important detail that I can’t emphasize enough is, there will be NO registration by phone for this event – NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE!!! You read that right… Due to high demand and limited space, we will be taking registration applications for this particular class by email only. Since we anticipate a high level of interest for this event, and because there are only 24 seats available, we know for a fact that we will get more registration requests than there are spots by a long shot. To make it more fair and to give everyone a chance to get their application in, we decided to select which applicants will be chosen to attend by random drawing. It’s kind of like entering the Sue Spargo lottery!
Want in? All you have to do be entered into the drawing is send an email to thegathering@primitivegatherings.us with SUE SPARGO in the subject line. Please include your full name, mailing address, email address, phone number, the number of people you’re traveling with, and if you require any special lodging accommodations. PLEASE NOTE: By sending your email application and information to The Gathering you are agreeing to the selection process as described. Emails must be received by 11:59 p.m. (CST) November 26th, 2023 to be eligible for the drawing. Because Sue’s style is more advanced, we ask that that all applicants are at a skill level of intermediate or better. One email entry per person/friend group please!

I have to say, Sue is one of the most delightful, friendly, and knowledgable people I’ve ever met. Spending time with her is a joy. I love just sitting, stitching, and chatting for hours with her, and you will too! She is from South Africa and has been all over the world sharing her love for creative stitching, so needless to say there will be plenty to talk about. She’s a busy lady! In fact, who even knows when she’ll be back at PG next! If this is a dream of yours I wouldn’t let the chance to live it pass you by.
