Twilight Stars Quilt-Along – Week NINE

Hey everyone! How’s your Friday going so far? I’ve had a busy morning of appointments, errands, and running around trying to get prepared for my trip to TX next week. I’m heading to Houston for the annual Moda Designer’s retreat so I’m trying to get any loose ends tied up before I leave. I’m super excited to go to this event since I’ll be down south having a blast with my Moda family while we catch up, bounce creative ideas off each other, and of course stitch! I have a large project that I plan to take with me so I have something to work on during retreat, plus I’ll also bring a handful of Twilight Stars blocks to play with for when I need a break from it.

Speaking of the Twilight Stars Quilt-Along series, it’s time for this week’s block releases! Block releases for week NINE will be block #21 and #23! One thing that I love about this QAL is that there are so many different possibilities for fabric and color choices. This could be the perfect quilt for that special stash you’ve been hoarding away for “just the right project,” or it could also be a great scrap buster. Still need a project for our Red, White, and Green Quilt Show? Here’s your solution! Whatever you decide, do what works best for you!

If you’re new to the Twilight Stars Quilt-Along and are wondering where to get the patterns for these blocks, they can be found in my book Triangle Gatherings, which you can purchase on our website by clicking HERE. A blog post I did explaining the full details on Twilight Stars can be found by clicking HERE. The full list of details and required supplies can be found at the Twilight Stars Info Page by hitting the button below!

As you probably already know, for my own blocks I’m using my Rustic Gatherings fabric line combined with Jackie MacDonald’s Halloween-themed collection, SpellboundI’m really liking how my block #21 turned out – all of mine so far have been on either the orange or black spectrum, so it’s neat to finally see gray making its way into the mix as a dominant color. I’m also enjoying the bright orange used for the other block. It’s not quite as dark as what I’ve used so far, and I appreciate the variety.

What do you think of my blocks this week? Do you like the pairing of these two fabrics or are you going another route? Let me know in the comments for a chance to win a prize! …which reminds me. I hope you’ve been remembering to post photos of your progress for another chance to win one of Heidi’s famous care packages! All you have to do is post a photo of your completed blocks each week before the release of the next batch, including the required book Triangle Gatherings and Primitive Gatherings Triangle Paper in the picture. Please also include the hashtag #TwilightStarsQAL in your post! Heidi will choose a weekly random winner until the end of the QAL. I announce the winner each week during my LIVE show every Thursday, so make sure you post before then. Congratulations to this week’s lucky winner, Robin Winall!

As long as we have prizes on the brain, I also want to say congratulations and THANK YOU to Lori Q. and Lisa J.! You are both getting a little something nice for your comments on the blog last week. I really do appreciate it! Please email Heidi at heidin@primitivegatherings.us with your contact information and she will get your prize out to you ASAP. See how easy it is to win!? Leave me a comment and you could be next!

Alright everyone, that’s it for today. I need to get back to organizing, packing, and getting my ducks in a row for my trip. I’ll do my best to take photos while I’m there but as always, no promises! I might be having too much fun enjoying the moment to think about it… We shall see! I hope you all have a great weekend and that you find time to STITCH EVERYDAY! I’ll see you all next week. Until then, take care and enjoy your blocks! ~Lisa
