Hey, everyone! As promised, I’m dropping by to show off my version of Dew Drops, the latest block release from Moda Blockheads 6! This delightful design comes from Chelsi Stratton of Sherri & Chelsi. Staying true to her fresh and timeless style, this simple yet striking block blends half-square triangles, snowballed squares, and quarter-square triangles together to create an intricate and eye catching Ohio Star style layout.

Nothing says “I love the USA” quite like surrounding yourself with stars and stripes while you stitch—it’s like patriotism you can actually wrap yourself up in! That’s why I’m using reds, whites, and blues for my MBH6 in honor of my latest fabric line, American Gatherings III’s debut, coming this December! I will be using two different gray Bella Solids for my background fabrics. They include three yards of Bella Solids Steel 9900 184 (instead of the white in Moda’s original design), and four yards of Bella Solids Graphite 9900 202 (instead of the Navy in Moda’s design), which you can find on our website by clicking the buttons below. In addition, for those of you who are going with this colorway but just so happen to be short on lights, I’ve got you covered with curated Fat Quarter bundles that include 18 light fat quarters for only $72.00. As for the darks, I don’t have specific bundles made up at the moment, so you’ll need to pull those from your own stash and mix and match from what you’ve already got on hand.
Need a little help with this week’s block? Moda’s got you covered with a step-by-step video tutorial on their YouTube channel! Whether you’ve been stitching along since day one or you just jumped in, you’ll find clear instructions, smart tips, and a nice little dose of encouragement to keep you moving. You can find the video along with all sorts of helpful information including the latest block patterns on the Moda Inspiration + Resources Blog by clicking HERE!
Alright, stitchers! Now that we have the latest release from Blockheads 6 covered, let’s get this weekend started! I’m actually heading out on a little mini vacation for the next couple of days… Just me, my camper van, and whatever roads call my name. No reservations, no schedule, and definitely no hotel drama thanks to my trusty little bus! I plan to sightsee (waterfalls included!), relax, reflect, and do exactly whatever I feel like doing… which will absolutely include a bit of stitching, let’s be honest! I will catch you all next week with more from my crazy life at Primitive Gatherings and The Gathering. Have a great weekend! ~Lisa.
