Ladies and gentlemen – start your sewing machines… The 2025 Primitive Gatherings Quilt Show registration is officially underway! As you know, if there’s one thing I’m all about it’s paying homage to the way quilts were made back in the good old days – before all the fancy and magical tools of today came along! I love to honor old traditions by putting my own modern spin on designs from years past because I feel like it keeps the history alive in a way that’s fresh, inspiring, and uniquely mine. After all, good design is like a well-loved quilt or a good bottle of wine – it only gets better with time!
Got scraps? The 2025 Primitive Gatherings Quilt Show is for you! My appreciation for tradition is exactly why I chose scrappy as this year’s PG Quilt Show theme. Scrappy quilting embodies the heart of what makes the art form so special – resourcefulness, creativity, and the joy of making something beautiful out of used items that you already have around you. It’s a respectful nod to the quilters before us who turned every leftover scrap into something purposeful, and a reminder that sometimes, the best designs are inspired by what would otherwise become trash.
If you have a scrappy quilt in mind that you’ve been dying to make but haven’t had a reason to pull the trigger, now’s the time! Here’s the short version of what you need to know about the show (a full explanation of the quilt show rules and requirements will be provided to you at registration)…
BASIC QUILT SHOW RULES:
The 2025 Scrappy Quilt Show is open to all who have a paid and confirmed registration completed by October 31st, 2025. Quilt entries must be a combination of at least 75 different fabrics to be entered into the show, and must have been made by the entrant within the last three years. Only ONE entry allowed per person. Quilt entries MUST be received along with a photo and all required signed paperwork to Primitive Gatherings by October 31st, 2025 to qualify to be entered into the show. Please insure your quilt before shipping.
CATEGORIES:
There will be three categories to choose from: Commercial Design – 30″ and above, Original Design – 30″ and above, and Mini Quilt – 30″ and below. Quilts will be hung on display at The Gathering from November 20th through December 19th, 2025, and returned after January 15th, 2026.
SHOW REGISTRATION AND ENTRY FEE:
The registration/entry fee for the 2025 Scrappy Quilt Show is $30.00 per person and includes entry into the show (you will receive an official registration packet with a complete list of rules, requirements, registration forms, and mailing labels via email once your registration fee is paid), one exclusive show embroidered patch, return shipping and handling of your quilt, and overall show operation.
