Hey, everyone – big news… Jen Kingwell is coming back to The Gathering in 2025, all the way from Australia! If you know anything about Jen’s work, you know this is a big deal! If you don’t know, well, let’s fix that. Jen is an absolute powerhouse in the quilting world with a style of all her own. Taking inspiration from her travel adventures and the natural beauty of her surroundings at home in Torquay, Australia, she’s known for blending bold colors, intricate patterns, and a mix of modern and traditional styles like it’s second nature.
I think it’s safe to say that I’m beyond excited to have Jen back at The Gathering for another fantastic hands-on learning event! If you love Jen like I do and have been dreaming of attending one of her classes, this could be just the opportunity you’ve been waiting for. “Everything She Knows” is meant to help you with any Jen Kingwell quilt project you would like to work on! If you don’t have a specific project you want to focus on, Jen will provide you with a simple block or appliqué for you to use while you learn her techniques. Supply lists will be provided after your registration for the class is completed.
• BRING ME FLOWERS – AUGUST 21st – AUGUST 22nd, 2025
– CLASS TIME: 10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at The Gathering
– CLASS FEE: $350.00 per student PLUS lodging – OR – $400.00 per student for day students – includes lunches and snacks. Please call The Gathering at 920-778-8031 for lodging rates!
This 2-day workshop will cover the gentle art of hand piecing and needle turn appliqué. You will leave with the knowledge and confidence to finish your project. “Bring Me Flowers” will finish 68″ x 68″ when it is complete. Patterns will be available to purchase. Hard templates are available but not necessary. Paper templates are included in the pattern. Supply lists will be provided after your registration for the class is completed. Sorry, kits are not available at this time.
• HAND QUILTING – AUGUST 23rd – 24th. 2025

This hands-on workshop explores the art of hand quilting and creative ways to finish your quilt top. Dive into the rich tradition and modern techniques of this timeless craft as Jen shares her expertise and tips for creating stunning hand-quilted designs. Participants will learn essential stitches, tools and tricks to finish their quilt tops, confidence and creativity! Supply lists will be provided after your registration for the class is completed.
• BOWIE STARS – AUGUST 25th – 26th. 2025
– CLASS TIME: 10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at The Gathering

Ahhh, I love Thursdays – don’t you??? As soon as my LIVE shows are done for the day I immediately feel like the weekend has arrived… even if my to-do list says otherwise. Because let’s be real – whatever doesn’t get done by the end of the day today, is most likely getting dragged into next week anyway. That’s just how it goes sometimes! Either way, the old to-do list will always be there waiting on Monday, so I say let the weekend ensue! What are your plans for the next couple of days? It sounds like we’ll be seeing warmer weather in our area for the first time all week, so I am going to do my best to get outdoors for a little fresh air before it gets cold again. You should too, nice weather or not – it’s good for you! Not the outdoorsy type? I guess you’ll just have to stay in and stitch. Problem solved!
